Job Title: Pet Groomer & Bather

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pet Groomer & Bather to join our team at Paws N Tails in the Duluth, Georgia area.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically fit, and passionate about animal welfare, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced salon setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Bathe and dry pets using appropriate shampoos, conditioners, and high-velocity dryers tailored to coat type and skin needs.
• Perform full grooming services including clipping, scissoring, styling to breed standards or client preferences, de-matting, and sanitary trims.
• Execute add-on services such as nail grinding, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and anal gland expression.
• Brush, de-shed, and maintain pet coats while monitoring for signs of health issues like fleas, skin conditions, or injuries—reporting to supervisors as needed.
• Sanitize all equipment, workstations, tubs, and grooming areas to uphold hygiene standards.
• Handle client check-ins/outs, educate owners on at-home care, recommend products, and process payments.
• Assist with inventory management of grooming supplies and tools (clippers, blades, shears).
• Ensure pet safety at all times using low-stress handling techniques, restraints, and monitoring for distress.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; grooming certification from an accredited academy strongly preferred.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience as a bather or groomer handling various breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Knowledge of breed-specific cuts, coat types, and common pet health indicators.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle active animals.
• Excellent customer service skills with a calm, patient demeanor.
• Pet First Aid/CPR certification a plus.

Work Environment & Schedule
Full- or part-time position in a lively pet salon. Flexible work schedule available, including weekends and evenings to accommodate client needs and work-life balance.
